Learn How to Build Big Arms!
by Bob Myhal
Dear Friend & Subscriber,
Everyone wants them. Few have them. How do you get them?
Basics
Stick to the basics. They have always worked and will continue to work. Here's a thought; how big would your arms be if you could
squat 400x10, deadlift 500x5, military press 225x8, bent-over row 275x10 and bench press 315x6? Answer? Rather large, obviously.
The point is that you must get strong on the basic, multi-joint lifts if you want to get big, and as a result have big arms.
Pumping away at concentration curls and tricep kickbacks three times a week will not give you that big, powerful look that you want. Sure, at first your arms may grow a bit, but nothing compared to what they will if you focus on the main lifts and get strong all over.
Direct Arm Work?
Does this mean you should not do any direct arm work? No, not at all - but do not make it your priority. One basic exercise for triceps and biceps will do you well. I suggest the basic barbell curl for the biceps and parallel bar dips for the triceps. Just focus on those two lifts for the arms and pile on the weight in good time. Here is that question again; if you could curl 185x8 in the strictest of form, don't you think your arms would be huge? Of course! Remind yourself of that point when you feel you are getting bored doing the same curl week in and week out. Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither are big arms or any other bodypart. Patience.
You now know the "secret" to big arms, but let's keep it between us, ok? Truly though, it is no secret. Many large & powerful men have followed these basic guidelines for decades and decades. It has and always will work. Stay the course and you will be on your way to sporting a couple of proverbial hams hanging by your sides.
Train with Passion.
