Just as I get a lot of e-mails and phone calls on how to gain weight, I get even more asking how to go about losing weight effectively and safely. When attempting to lose weight you must take into account three factors, and they are as follows.

Food Consumption

For starters, cut out 500 calories of your daily diet. Over the course of a week, that equals exactly a 1lb weight loss. Low carbohydrate diets are extremely popular right now, and for good reason – they work. The way I suggest starting is using a walking to running ratio of 3:1. Walk for 60 seconds, then run for 20 seconds. Doing 15 of these cycles will give you 20 minutes of fairly intense exercise which will allow you to work up a good sweat.
